Appointed and acted as Legal Consultant to the Joint Select Committee of Parliament of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago on the new Insurance Act which was proposed for Trinidad and Tobago.

Insurance Insolvency

Our Office has been actively involved in many of the insurance insolvencies arising in Trinidad and Tobago. The cases have involved judicial management, liquidation and the restructuring of the insolvent business and subsequent transfer to an existing insurer.

We have drafted and advised on the relevant documentation required in such matters.

Insurance Supervision

Our Office has been actively involved in issues relating to the powers of the Supervisor of Insurance and the role of the Supervisor in insurance liquidation.

We have also advised extensively on the statutory obligations of registered insurers under the Insurance Act and acted both for and against the regulatory authorities on such matters.
